Program Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant (hereby referred to as CNA) program is designed to prepare our students to confidently address the responsibilities of a professional CNA. Our CNA Program consists of a 9-unit module program that consists of 45.5 hours of lecture, 28.5 hours of lab and 34 hours of clinical experiences. The content is delivered in multiple formats including: lecture, class discussion, audiovisual material, independent assignments, hands on demonstrations, and student participation. Students will learn basic concepts of nurse aide care, including but not limited to; areas such as anatomy, nutritional care, and disease management. Clinical will be held at an approved long-term care facility, providing students the opportunity to interact with nursing home residents and staff members in multiple capacities. After successful completion of the program, each student will have met the requirements to be eligible to take the state CNA certification exam administered by Prometric. Students must attend all sessions of clinical, lab and lecture to be eligible for program completion and to sit for the Connecticut CNA exam administered by Prometric.

Proof of Immunizations:
-Hepatitis B Must submit one of the following: Positive Hepatitis B Titer, OR 3 Shot vaccine series
-Proof of your current Tdap (within the last 10 years)-Influenza vaccine, if you are scheduled for clinical between October and April

Clinical sites may require proof of COVID vaccine and booster

- Day Program: 4 weeks
- Hybrid Program: 4 weeks
- Evening Program: 4 1/2 weeks

- Traditional- all in person
- Hybrid-theory lectures held online, lab, clinical and some lectures completed in person
- Hybrid Red Cross Blended Learning- Self-paced theory completed online, Lab and clinical completed in-person
