## Program Description
At Cornerstone Medical Training Center (CMTC), the 80 hour Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to teach aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. The theory and lab work components of the program includes but not limited to; anatomy and physiology, blood collection procedures, specimen collection, infection control, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Upon completion of Phlebotomy training at CMTC students will receive a certificate of completion and may register to take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam administered by National Healthcareer Association (hereby referred to as NHA). 

## Enrollment Requirements 
-        Proof individual is at least 18 years or older
-        High School Diploma or GED
-        The payment of registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition. 
-        Signed Enrollment Agreement. 
-        Background check
-        Enrollment Application and Entrance Exam 
-        Proof of Immunizations:
         • Hepatitis B Must submit one of the following: 
           Positive Hepatitis B Titer
           Hepatitis B  3 Shot vaccine series and a Positive Hepatitis B titer 
       • Proof of your current Tdap 
- Current Physical Exam

## Program Description
At Cornerstone Medical Training Center (CMTC), our Patient Care Technician program is split into 3 phases and allows our students the opportunity to take part in the CNA training program, the Phlebotomy training program, and the EKG Technician training program. Our PCT program is designed to prepare our students to confidently address the responsibilities of a PCT. Students will learn basic concepts of patient care, including but not limited to; areas such as anatomy, nutritional care, electrocardiogram (EKG) and Phlebotomy skill training and disease management. This program is a total of 228 hours  (105.5 theory, 88.5 lab, 34 clinical hours) and is a combination of classroom, lab, and clinical experience. Content delivered in multiple formats including lecture, class discussion, audiovisual material, independent assignments, hands on demonstrations, and student participation. Clinical will be held at an approved long-term care facility, providing  students the opportunity to interact with nursing home residents and staff members in multiple capacities. After successful completion of the program, each student will have met the requirements to be eligible to take the state CNA certification exam with Prometric and PCT certification exam with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).   

## Enrollment Requirements
- Proof applicant is at least 18 years of age  
- High School Diploma or GED
-  Background check (Existing and pending convictions will be reviewed by the clinical site and admittance into the clinical setting will be determined by the clinical site faculty)
- The payment of the registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition. 
-  Signed Enrollment Agreement. 
-  Enrollment Application and Entrance exam (all students must be able to speak, read, and understand basic English) 
- Current Physical Exam (within last 12 months)
-  Proof of influenza vaccine, if you are scheduled for clinical between October and April   
-  Proof of Immunizations:
• Hepatitis B Must submit one of the following: Positive Hepatitis B Titer, Hepatitis B 
 3 Shot vaccine series and a Positive Hepatitis B titer 
       • Proof of your current Tdap (within the last 10 years)
-  Negative 2 step PPD or negative chest x-ray (within the last 12 months). 
- Negative Urine test (required prior to the start of clinical)
- Clinical sites may require proof of COVID vaccine and booster 

 ## Program Length
- Day program- 7 weeks

- Hybrid-theory lectures completed online and lab, clinical and some lectures completed in-person

## Program Description
This course is designed to prepare you to once again work as a certified nursing assistant and or prepare you to take the CT Certified Nursing Assistant certification exam administered by Prometric. You will practice the skills that you might not have used in a while. This course helps prepare students to confidently address the responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant. Students will learn essential concepts of nursing care, including but not limited to; areas such as anatomy, nutritional care, medication care, and disease management. This course is a combination of classroom and lab experience. Content is delivered in multiple formats including lecture, class discussion, audiovisual material, independent assignments, hands on demonstrations, and student participation. The course contains a total of  74 course hours (40 Theory Hours,  34 Lab Hours, 0 Clinical Hours) After successful completion of this course, each student will be able to take or retake the CT Certified Nursing Assistant exam administered by Prometric.

## Enrollment Requirements
- Proof applicant is at least 16 years or older  
- Proof of current or expired CT Certified Nursing Assistant certification (with no substantiated findings) and/or a successful completion of a Connecticut Certified Nursing Assistant course within the last 24 months
- Health Insurance (recommended) 
- The payment of the registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition. 
-  Signed Enrollment Agreement. 
- Enrollment Application and Entrance exam (all students must be able to speak, read, and understand basic English) 

## Program Length 
- Day: 2 weeks 
- Evening: 3.5 weeks

This Pharmacy Technician certification program prepares students to assist licensed pharmacists in retail, hospital, and clinical settings. Students will gain hands-on experience in prescription processing, medication preparation, dosage calculations, and pharmaceutical terminology. The course also covers pharmacy law, ethics, and customer service skills essential for a professional healthcare environment.

By the end of the program, participants will have the knowledge and training needed to confidently take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCB) and pursue employment as a certified Pharmacy Technician.

## Program Description 
The Certified Nursing Assistant (hereby referred to as CNA) program is designed to prepare our students to confidently address the responsibilities of a professional CNA. Our CNA Program consists of a 9-unit  module program that consists of 45.5 hours of  lecture, 28.5 hours of lab and 34 hours of clinical experiences. The content is delivered in multiple formats including: lecture, class discussion, audiovisual material, independent assignments, hands on demonstrations, and student participation. Students will learn basic concepts of nurse aide care, including but not limited to; areas such as anatomy, nutritional care, and disease management. Clinical will be held at an approved long-term care facility, providing  students the opportunity to interact with nursing home residents and staff members in multiple capacities. After successful completion of the program, each student will have met the requirements to be eligible to take the state CNA certification exam administered by Prometric. Students must attend all sessions of clinical, lab and lecture to be eligible for program completion and to sit for the Connecticut CNA exam administered by Prometric.

- Proof applicant is at least 16 years or older. 
- Negative 2 step PPD or negative chest x-ray

- Negative Urine drug test
- The payment of the registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition

## Program Description
This program is designed to prepare our students to become a confident Certified EKG Technician. This 40 hour program involves monitoring and recording electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. The program includes basic theoretical components and hands-on labs and practice with EKG equipment. At the completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified EKG Technician Certification (CET) exam.

## Enrollment Requirements

 The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program prepares students to work in the growing healthcare administrative field. Students will learn to demonstrate critical thinking skills while applying knowledge of specialized medical terminologies, insurance, and regulatory systems. The program also prepares students for the Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS) industry certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

At Cornerstone Medical Training Center (CMTC), our Medical Assistant (MA) Program is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in healthcare. This comprehensive, hands-on program covers anatomy, medical terminology, patient care, phlebotomy, electrocardiograms (EKG), and administrative medical office procedures. Students graduate ready to perform both clinical and administrative duties in a variety of medical settings. Students also complete an externship to gain real-world, hands-on experience.

At the completion of the program, participants will have the comprehensive knowledge, hands-on training, and clinical preparation needed to confidently sit for the National Clinical Medical Assistant Certification Exam (CCMA) and pursue employment as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
